VESSELS

Durational performance installation, collaboration with Thomas Reul, Circle1 Gallery, Berlin, March 2018. When several vessels connect with each other they are described as communicating vessels. In communicating vessels, the surface of the liquid that fills each of the containers is the same level everywhere. An imbalance in levels is observed if the containers are not interconnected or the pressure is not equal in each container. 

The physical phenomena correlate with the social and the political spheres: the correlation is expressed in the relationship between open black water containers on the rooftop of a Palestinian house and standing next to it an Israeli house with running water. 

The performance activates interrelationships between bodies of water and space. The physical tension of the open bottle creates hyper awareness to the presence of the water, and leaves the gallery space with a soundless hiss.
